Senior Regional Hockey

17857222_1802456173416391_1398408955_nOn Saturday 8th April, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to travel to RAF Cranwell, to represent the South West Region at the Senior Regional Hockey Championships. Along with 14 other girls from various wings across the region, we competed against the 5 other regions of the Air Cadet Organisation. By the end of the day, we won 3 matches, drew 1 and lost 1 – unfortunately in the last few seconds of the last game, making it the only goal conceded throughout the whole day. As a result, we came 1st overall.

This was a huge achievement for us, and despite only meeting the majority of the team 2 hours before our first game, we all got on really well together both on and off the pitch, lead by a strong and determined captain
who pushed us to succeed. It was an excellent occasion for me to meet like-minded people and build teamwork whilst playing a sport I love. It was a tiring but exciting experience and I look forward to returning in the coming year for Wing tryouts.
